"Why does a heavenly organisation need earthly headquarters buildings? Surely Jesus said that God is a Spirit and should be worshipped in spirit and truth?"

that title, “buy truth and never sell it”.
is that not our goal has jw’s, to try to sell the truth to those who have the right heart condition to accept it?.

The one I wondered about was "One day while walking drunk along the road, Jasmine met two Witness missionaries. The missionaries arranged for a Bible study."
Presumably the missionaries weren't getting much success in their ministry that when they spot a violent aggressive drunk - they offer a Bible Study. Would you, really?
Then the fact that when they call the couple are still drunk, so they arrange to come back again. Obviously they have no other people to call on, because if they had they'd prioritise and the drunks would not be top of their list. Personally I think it is another made up story.

But didn't you catch the day's text for Wednesday January 9 (Vomiting).
Everything was numbered and weighed, and all the weight was recorded.—Ezra 8:34.
With prayerful consideration, the Governing Body strives to be faithful and discreet with regard to how the organization’s funds are used. (Matt. 24:45) The funds that are received are budgeted and spent accordingly. (Luke 14:28) The apostle Paul collected funds as a relief ministration for the brothers in Judea. He took steps to ensure that those delivering the funds cared for “everything honestly, not only in the sight of Jehovah but also in the sight of men.” (2 Cor. 8:18-21) Imitating the examples of Ezra and Paul, our organization today follows strict procedures when it comes to handling and spending donated funds. (Ezra 8:24-33) In recent years, there have been many exciting new initiatives. The organization looks for ways to reduce expenses and simplify the work so as to be able to accomplish the most that it can with your generous donations.
the following article is about getting away from toxic family members.
but it equally can apply to cutting off any toxic person or group of people.
looking at the 5 points for identifying such toxic people - i have seen or experienced every one of them inside the congregation of jehovah’s witnesses.

confusing standards or hodge podge?.
what is this about beards i never got the hang of from day one?
are beards ok or not?.
WATCHTOWER SEPTEMBER 2016. Page 21, Paragraph 17.
17. What are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?
17 What about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard? The Mosaic Law required men to wear a beard. However, Christians are not under the Mosaic Law, nor are they obliged to observe it. (Lev. 19:27; 21:5; Gal. 3:24, 25) In some cultures, a neatly trimmed beard may be acceptable and respectable, and it may not detract at all from the Kingdom message. In fact, some appointed brothers have beards. Even so, some brothers might decide not to wear a beard. (1 Cor. 8:9, 13; 10:32) In other cultures or localities, beards are not the custom and are not considered acceptable for Christian ministers. In fact, having one may hinder a brother from bringing glory to God by his dress and grooming and his being irreprehensible.—Rom. 15:1-3; 1 Tim. 3:2, 7.
as all jw's and awakened ex-jw's know, the very existence of the religion is dependent on people's belief that the "holy trinity" of the wtbts, the ccojw, and the governing body (aka the organization) were personally selected by god/christ.. 1) mr. rutherford claimed that this divine choosing occurred circa 1919, and that all anointed members were personally chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.
2) in 2013 this long-held, "profound scriptural truth" was discarded by apostates in brooklyn (the present-day governing body) when they personally decided that only gb members were chosen by god/christ to be the faithful slave.

@Nitty-gritty.
The idea that by being baptised into their religion means agreeing with all that they teach runs into a problem.
The teaching keeps changing! The teachings a person accepted without challenge at the time of their baptism, might have been thrown out and are now no longer acceptable. But the jw cannot now openly disagree with the party line or will be made to face the consequences.
Secondly, at baptism we all agreed that we would be an ordained minister in harmony with "God's spirit-directed organisation". When we discover much later that God's spirit is not leading the F&DS we either cancel our membership and stop ministering, or (pimo) hide out all the while keeping our heads down and not actively stirring the pot.
It's a very sad state for any one to be living in. Fear of men (GB and Elders), who you unknowingly handed over your power to when you said "yes" to those baptism questions so long ago.
well, it looks like the axe has finally fallen on our kh library.
during a deep clean of the local kh, a brother suddenly informed everyone 'whikst cleaning' that all the old books including bound volumes of the watchtower etc was to be chucked in the skip.. from what i heard, some were taken aback by this and quite annoyed that no announcement was made; that no one was given the choice of taking some of these books home to keep.
i mean the entire collection of studies in the scriptures and others that go back an entire century.
It's been done throughout the island of Ireland.

one of the witness rebuttals that is used to belittle the christmas holiday is the one where they say that people reduce jesus christ to being just a baby in a manger, whereas the witnesses recognize him as a mighty king, a much more accurate and current way to view jesus.
a baby in a manger is a sweet sight on any day, it's true, but more is going on than meets the eye in the case of jesus.
this particular baby is the first baby to have been born without an earthly father, the immaculate conception.
And while Jesus should be hailed as a heavenly king, he is presented as being a chief angel called Michael instead.
so i mentioned to my pimi brother that the org.
only grew by 1.4 % 2 years in row and if you factor in the birthrate of 1.1 % that's only 3/10 of 1% growth for all that hard work.
i thought people would be streaming to the mountain of jehovah in the last days?
When they say that they read it in the Watchtower therefore it must be true I reply saying I don't believe in conspiracy theories.
Conspiracy theory? 1 or 2 do ask.
Yes, the theory based on regularly revised made up prophecy that the world is ending anytime soon.
